At Books.by, every book is printed specifically for each order.


This ensures high print quality and global delivery — but it also means that refunds and returns work differently from traditional online stores.

1. Because Every Book Is Printed to Order

Each book is custom-printed when you place your order.


For this reason, we don’t accept general returns or cancellations once printing has begun.

However, we’ll always make things right if your book doesn’t arrive or arrives in unsatisfactory condition.


2. Refunds for Delayed or Missing Orders

If your book hasn’t been delivered within 30 days of printing, please contact us.
We’ll provide both:

  • A full refund, and

  • A complimentary reprint of your order.

You’ll receive confirmation of your refund and shipping details for your replacement copy.


This process is handled entirely at Books.by’s expense and doesn’t affect the author’s earnings.


3. Damaged or Defective Books

A book qualifies as defective if it’s not fit for retail sale — for example:

  • Misaligned or cropped pages

  • Printing or colour issues

  • Binding or lamination damage

  • Torn, scratched, or marked covers

If your book arrives damaged or misprinted:

  1. Email [email protected] within 30 days of receiving your order.

  2. Attach photos showing the issue (cover and affected pages).

  3. Once verified, we’ll issue a replacement or full refund for the affected copy.

We may ask you to take a photo of the cover with a small corner torn to confirm the book can’t be resold — this helps us verify defective copies quickly and protect authors’ work.


4. When Refunds Aren’t Available

  • We can’t refund books for personal preference, change of mind, or incorrect order details.

  • Because every book is printed individually, all confirmed orders are final once printing begins.

  • Refunds apply only in cases of non-delivery or print defects.


5. How Refunds Work

  • Refunds are processed within 5 – 10 business days of approval.

  • You’ll receive an email notification as soon as the refund is issued.

  • Replacement copies ship as soon as reprinting is complete, and you’ll receive tracking information.
