Setting my bookstore to Public vs Private

On Books.by, your bookstore can be toggled between either Public or Private state. You can quickly and easily toggle your bookstore's visibility on your dashboard, using the 'Public' and 'Private' toggle on the top right hand side.

When your bookstore is set to Private, your bookstore will appear offline and display the message 'Bookstore Not Found'. Your bookstore will be disabled from the Google Search index, and any existing links to your bookstore will cease to function.

Setting your bookstore to Private is ideal for authors who are still working on their books, and are not yet ready to publish or release their bookstore to the public.

Note: It is possible to set your bookstore to 'Public', but not publish your books. Any book that you upload to Books.by will remain in a private Draft state until you choose to publish it on your bookstore.

When your bookstore is set to Public, your personal books.by/you link will begin to operate as expected. Viewers will be able to view your published books, your author biography and your avatar. Your bookstore will also be visible to the Google Search index.

If you are attempting to view your bookstore and seeing a 'Bookstore Not Found' message, this will be because your bookstore is set to Private. To view your bookstore, you will need to return to your dashboard and toggle your store to Public.
